Top 5 Friday

March 2, 2007

Today’s Top 5 shall be …
Top Five Travel Destinations! Post yours in the comments.

1. Brussels, Belgium — This little city possesses so many of my favorite works of art, I think I will explode upon entering the museum. My favorite painting in the entire world is in the Musee de Beaux Arts, and if you don’t know what it is, we’re not friends anymore. JK! LOL!
2. The Kawamura Memorial Museum of Art in Japan — Rothko Room, CHECK!
3. Though I’d like to revisit Paris appropriately, I would also like to visit someplace more rural, someplace where the foods are smellier and no one speaks English.
4. Berlin! Because Amanda’s obsessed and because it’s modern and artsy and crazy and I want to run around taking pictures of graffiti and eating weiners.
5. The Pacific Northwest — Sadly, I have never been. But I need to make my Elliott Smith pilgrimage and FAST!

more. f’in. d-bags.

March 2, 2007

Again, more from Styledash and Jonathon Morgan , who I am certain is going to hunt me down and strangle me with his microphone cord.

D-bag photographer / promotor Morgan snapped this photo outside of Thunderbird Coffee in Austin. This blurb gives me enough fuel to set all d-bags on fire:
“When I stopped him, this guy was only in jeans, and a black t-shirt — it was his hat that caught my attention. But before I could take his picture, he stopped me, asked to run back inside the coffee shop, and re-emerged in the awesome cardigan and daring neckware you see above. Two simple changes took a look that was straightforward cool, and made it completely kick ass.”
Um, what? He discovered his hat at Pacific Sunwear and tries to pass it off as his grandfather’s. His sweater helps him to resemble some sort of Bigfoot / gorilla / yeti with its extreme furriness. His “daring neckwear” is an aquamarine bandana. Yeah, this guy looks like a TOTAL badass. His personal ad: Total badass, willing to take risks, spontaneous. Let’s go skydiving, tie each other up. Meet me at Thunderbird Coffee; I promise to wear my slip-ons.
